The Pan-African Shield College Africa Data Protection Officer (DPO) Course has been designed and structured in full alignment with the requirements of the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) Kenya, the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019 (KDPA), and its 2021 subsidiary regulations. The programme bridges the gap between regulatory theory and organisational practice, producing DPO-qualified professionals who can immediately discharge their statutory obligations.
The curriculum draws on comparative international frameworks — the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) — to ensure participants develop globally transferable competencies while anchoring their practice in Kenyan law.
This course, offered by Pan-African Shield College Africa, covers statutory infrastructure compliance and facility auditing under OSHA 2007 and the MoE Safety Standards Manual, night supervision and crowd command protocols for boarding schools, toxic atmosphere realities and legal liability boundaries for school staff, and tactical firefighting equipment maintenance and use under the Fire Risk Reduction Rules (2007) — equipping the holder with the authority and competence to lead fire safety compliance and crisis command in Kenyan school environments.
